David Schwimmer doesn’t silence his phone notifications!

On Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Goosebumps: The Vanishing actor revealed on Good Morning America that funny exchanges keep him “pretty close” with Matt LeBlanc, despite living miles apart.

He also confessed, however, that his former Friends costar recently sent him a message that took him by surprise.

“LeBlanc and I are pretty close, even though I live in New York and he’s in L.A.,” Schwimmer, 58, told the show’s co-anchor Robin Roberts.

“What’s fun is we’ve got the kind of friendship where we may not talk for months, but out of nowhere, he’ll send me a message with a clip from the show — which, it’s always funny to relive something we shot, what, 25 years ago or more?” he continued.

“So he sent me something a couple of days ago that totally surprised me,” Schwimmer added of LeBlanc, 57. “I genuinely forgot what we’ve shot, but it’s a moment where he just rips my shirt off.”

Roberts, 64, praised the actor for being willing to reflect on his time starring as Ross Geller on Friends, despite the series finale having aired back in 2004.

She added that audiences “love the work” he’s been doing in the years since, but still want to sometimes “relive” the past.

“To be honest with you, it’s kind of the gift that keeps on giving,” Schwimmer said of Friends.

“When I meet people on the street from another country and they say, ‘I just have to say, I learned English watching your show,’ or a father stops me and says, ‘My kid was really, really ill and the one thing that kept them going in the hospital was just watching Friends,’ you feel really grateful and blessed to have done something that people find fun,” he added.

The discussion comes just a week after Schwimmer shared a “genuinely frightening moment” that took place during a live taping of Friends in 1996.

While speaking to Entertainment Weekly about his role in the upcoming second season of Goosebumps, he recalled how LeBlanc dislocated his shoulder while attempting a pratfall.

The actor said they had to “cut” the cameras during the taping of the season 3 episode “The One Where No One’s Ready,” for LeBlanc to go to the hospital.

“He went totally white, and he stood up, and I could see his shoulder was out. He looked like he was going to pass out,” Schwimmer said.
