Ronda Rousey and her husband, Travis Browne, share two daughters
Ronda Rousey is a mom of two!
In January 2025, Rousey and her husband, Travis Browne, welcomed their second child, daughter Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha, into the world.
She joins her big sister, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō, who was born in 2021. (Browne also has two sons, Kaleo and Keawe, from a previous marriage.)
In an interview with PEOPLE in June 2023, Rousey opened up about how motherhood has changed her.
“I’m just so much happier that I’m no longer ruminating over myself all day,” she said. “I’m always thinking about [La’akea].”
Here’s everything to know about Ronda Rousey’s kids: La’akea and Liko’ula.
La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, 3
Rousey and Browne welcomed their first child together, La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne, in September 2021.
Her birth was a significant moment for the pair, who celebrated the arrival of their daughter, affectionately called “Pō,” with heartfelt posts on social media. In Rousey’s photos, she gave a glimpse of the newborn, and Browne shared the same pictures on his Instagram with the caption, “Welcome to this world La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō Browne. You are so incredibly loved!”
Nowadays, Rousey gives updates about La’akea, sharing snippets of their life — from gym visits to stops at the local chicken hatch. At the center of Rousey’s La’akea content is a sentiment of closeness.
In April 2024, the pro wrestler posted a video on Instagram of La’akea running into her arms from across the way with the caption, “No place I’d rather be.”
While navigating motherhood, Rousey has kept up with her career, including filming the reality competition show Stars on Mars. Afterward, Rousey said it proved taxing, as it required her to be away from her child for an extended period.
“That was the most challenging thing, just being away from my baby,” she told PEOPLE in June 2023. “I had a really hard time being away from her,” adding that “the mom guilt was compounding by the day.”
However, when the two finally reunited after Rousey wrapped up her time on the Fox series, she recalled the mother-daughter duo’s emotional bonding moment.
“When she saw me, she wanted to jump into my arms and then she wanted me to put her down and just run around the house with me and then pick her up,” the 9-1-1 star recounted. When La’akea “finally calmed down” from the excitement, the two celebrated by watching Frozen.
“Then that night — she sleeps in the bed with us — and with her little head in my nook, and I fell sleep holding her that night,” Rousey added. “It was the most amazing feeling after being away for so long.”
She has often reflected on how motherhood has transformed her life, making her more considerate and improving her mental health. The athlete shared with PEOPLE that focusing on her daughter has helped her stop being so hard on herself, emphasizing the positive impact La’akea has had on her well-being.
“I’m just so much happier that I’m no longer ruminating over myself all day,” Rousey explained. “I think the best part about it is that it’s mentally made me more healthy and made me stop beating myself up so much because I’m so concerned with taking care of her.”
La’akea is already showing signs of her mother’s toughness: According to Rousey, she handles pain with remarkable resilience. “She just fell and scraped her knee today, and she didn’t even cry. She just kind of grunts it out!” she said.
Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha Browne
Rousey and Browne’s second daughter, Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha Browne, arrived in January 2025.
“Our little girl came into this world during a windstorm into a city on fire, so grateful she made it safe and sound,” the WWE star wrote on Instagram, referring to the wildfires that devastated parts of Los Angeles.
In July 2024, Rousey attended the San Diego Comic-Con to promote the launch of her new graphic novel, Expecting the Unexpected.
The professional wrestler’s book, which was launched through a Kickstarter campaign, is about “two rival assassins who end up unexpectedly pregnant and discover that giving life is harder than taking it,” Rousey wrote in an Instagram post.
While speaking on a panel at Comic-Con, she revealed that life imitated art and announced her second pregnancy. “IT’S A GIRL! Happy I can finally shout it from the rooftops,” Rousey later wrote on Instagram.
