Celebrity real estate agent Jason Oppenheim is offering his services to help those who have been displaced by the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.
On Thursday, Jan. 9, Oppenheim, 47, posted an Instagram video announcing that his real estate brokerage, The Oppenheim Group, will offer free assistance to Los Angeles residents whose homes were destroyed in the ongoing wildfires.
“I woke up this morning to a lot of friends and clients reaching out because they lost their homes the last couple of days, and they need help with places to live now; their families are displaced. As real estate agents, we obviously have an obligation to help them find a place even when it’s going to be difficult, with thousands of people looking for places and not nearly as many houses available,” he said.
The Selling Sunset star continued: “But the Oppenheim group is offering to represent anybody for free or we will credit you back any commission paid if you’ve lost your house and you’re now displaced. We will help you find a place or do our best to help you find a place to rent.”
“Real estate agents need to come together and work hard for the community,” the TV personality noted. “This is our time to be able to give back, so reach out to us.”

Several of Oppenheim’s costars and brokers commented on his video, also extending their support.
Los Angeles agents Davina Potratz and Mary Bonnet commented, “Yes, ready to serve 🙏💯❤️,” and “❤️❤️❤️❤️,” respectively.
Orange County agents also offered their help. “We are ready to help down in OC! ❤️,” wrote Polly Brindle. “love this 👏❤️,” added Alexandra Jarvis.
Along with the Oppenheim Group assisting those displaced, Mauricio Umansky’s real estate company, The Agency, is working to find solutions for those in need, per Housing Wire.
In an Instagram Story on Thursday, Jan. 9, Umansky said his office is having an emergency meeting to learn how to advise and communicate with clients and agents and “try to find housing.” He noted he’s speaking with developers and lenders to “figure out” whether their properties will be available for short-term lease agreements for in-need clients.

The two real estate companies are offering their help after thousands of structures have been affected in what has already been the most destructive firestorm in the city’s history.
Multiple wildfires have been raging across Los Angeles County, including the Palisades Fire in the Pacific Palisades and Malibu areas and the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and Altadena. At the time of publication, both the Palisades Fire and the Eaton Fire are 0% contained.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna says the death toll from the L.A. fires is currently unknown, despite previous reports. At a press briefing on Thursday, Jan. 9, Luna said he was “not satisfied” with the preliminary information he received but noted that people “are doing their best” amid the difficult conditions.
